Congrats to Wyatt and Lindsay!

I spent my day in Monroe Ia yesterday…a TEENY little town just outside of Des Moines. It was blustery and overcast but as you can see that didn’t stop the smiles on Lindsay’s face! Lindsay is my hubby’s baby sister and it was a sweet sweet day! This wedding came together very quickly because Wyatt will be stationed in South Carolina next week so being that they got married during my crazy busy Holiday season I’ll be holding their pictures captive until I can breathe again. So…. here’s a little peek for them to tide them over

Another barn wedding yay! I was so excited to find out we were visiting another farm. Brett and Paige are not from the area and we’re driving around looking for a cool spot for pictures when they came across this little farm and went to the door and asked the owners if they could have their pictures taken there. They were kind enough to say yes and if a red barn doesn’t say Iowa then I don’t know what does! You can see LOTS more of them on the facebook fan page!

This summer I had the honor of filling in for two fantastic photographers while they had their babies. The wedding and reception were held at the Black Hawk Lodge which is pretty woodsy but I was amazed at their decorating and how they “glammed” it up. You can see lots more detail shots on the facebook fan page!

Between this wedding and a session with two little boys on the family farm I’m REALLy wishing I lived on a farm! I loved this wedding, the details were just amazing! The bride and her sister are florists and the attention to detail was just perfect in every way. The colors were ivory, taupe and white and it was just a beautiful blend with an antique feel. The reception was held on the family farm and to be honest I just couldn’t totally picture it but the transformation they gave that barn was just fabulous! Here’s just a few of my favorite’s but there is a TON more on the facebook fan page (just browse through the photo albums!)

I have to tell you a little something about me….I never cry when I photograph weddings….nope never ever not even at my brother’s wedding last summer. I’m so focused on what I’m doing to be honest I tend to tune sound out. This wedding was totally different though and I had to control myself from making a scene and bawling like a baby!! Hands down this was THE sweetest ceremony I’ve ever had the priveledge of attending. It was family only which I knew and she mentioned that there would be some guitar playing and special reading but it was watching her face beaming with pride and love as all of their children and grandchildren took part in their ceremony that just really got to me. Oh I’ve got to stop now because I’m gettting teary again…Jim and Vickie you are so blessed…but I think you already knew that
Congratulations and enjoy your little sneak peek.
The wedding took place at this charming new restaurant in LeClaire and guests enjoyed strawberries and champagne following the ceremony.
The whole family…
Taking advantage of that pretty river view…
There was so much laughter during the ceremony, happiness just exudes from this couple.
as well as some tears…
and some more smiles…
Such a sweet moment between Vickie and her grandson following the ceremony.
